HALLOWEEN DIY'S

 

DIY MUG ART: Do you love festive mugs for the holidays and want to create your own? Try using sharpie on a blank mug! What you’ll need: blank mug of your choice (white works really well), and a black sharpie. You can do any design you want! Skulls, spiders and witches oh my!

 

DIY SKULL CANDLE: If you love candles, try making one of your own for Halloween! What you’ll need: skull mold, soy wax, essential oils, candle wicks, paper clips, scissors, and a hair dryer. First, you have to get a skull mold! You can find one in the baking section at a craft store. If it comes with a front and back mold, set it aside so that it’s ready once the wax is melted. Measure about 2 ½ cups of soy wax and place the cup in the microwave for a couple minutes to melt the chips. Once the wax is melted, you can add essential oil to personalize the scent of the candle! After mixing the oils and wax together, let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes and pour the wax into the skull mold. Once the skull molds are solid, take them out carefully. Mend the two halves of the skull by pushing a paperclip into one side of the skulls and then push the other skull half into the paper clip, creating a hook. (Make sure the wick is between both halves before you hook one side to the other.) Sealing the two halves of the skull together, you’ll want to apply heat. A hair dryer works perfectly. Slightly melt the opening and use your finger to patch up the gap. Let the candle dry for a few minutes and you’re done!
